A fork in the road is not the end of the line. You can still keep going if you just make up your mind to go a different way than the one you might expect. Just follow the signs, pick a new direction... Don't forget...Follow the signs. One way or the other you will get to where you get. It may be a bullet, it might be a cigarette. I may be wrong. You may be fine. Follow the signs. A fork in the road under a darkening sky. The clouds are the colour of the bruise around your eye. You feel safe, you have escaped, but it's not over yet. You know that if they catch you, they are not just going to let you say goodbye... Follow the signs. Follow the signs when they tell you what you don't want to hear. Follow them even when they fill you with fear. Sometime fear can be especially kind... A fork in the road cannot tell you what to do. It might not be right, but it was what you had to do. A window is closing, but a light is breaking through. You must keep out of sight, let the night envelop you. Soon you will have everywhere to hide... One way or the other you will get to where you get. It may be a bullet, it might be a cigarette. I may be wrong, you may be fine. Just follow the signs. You still have to make up your own mind...

I need a change of perspective. Already made all the mistakes I'll ever need to make in this place. I need a change of perspective. Gotta find a new scene a little bit more welcoming than places I have been. I need a change of perspective. Whichever way the wind is blowing is where I'm going Until I can't remember what I came here to forget I don't know where I'm going but I'm not there yet. I need a change of perspective. I'm lost in the crowd. I want to hear myself thinking. I want to live out loud. I need a change of perspective underneath the open sky. I've got to hit the open road, at least give it a try... I need a change of perspective. Whichever way the wind is blowing is where I'm going, until I can't remember what I came here to forget. I don't know where I'm going... but I'm not there yet. Sometimes, to find yourself you've got to get lost. Sometimes you don't want to be found. Just want to get lost. I'm going to go get lost. Going to go get lost.... I need a change of perspective. I'm not "in it to win..." One place is as good as any to begin. I need a change of perspective underneath the open sky. I've got to hit the open road... At least give it a try. I need a change of perspective. Whichever way the wind is blowing is where I'm going Until I can't remember what I came here to forget I don't know where I'm going but I'm not there yet. But I'm getting there.

After All 03:26
It feels so good to get away, Explore the Great Unknown... Right now I'm happy where I live. I think I'll make it home. After all the tears we shed, here's to all the years ahead. It feels so good to clear the air and let the truth be known. I'm glad to hear that you're still there. I hope you make it home. After all, what can we do after all that we've been through After all this time... It feels so good to be understood and know you're not alone. Right now I'm with the one I Love. I think I made it home. After all, what can we do after all that we've been through? After all the tears we shed, here's to all the years ahead. Right now I'm doing what I love. I think I made it home.

New Man 03:04
Keep it in the shadows, nobody wants to see. It's all true, but that is no longer me. Don't want to be reminded what I used to be. I'm a new man with no enemies. You know everything about me that is no longer true. You know everything I did that I no longer do. All you really know about me is what I'm trying to forget. I'm a new man. No regrets. The best thing that I could do is set you free. I loved him like a brother that I no longer want to see. Can you let somebody go and still hold onto memories? I'm a new man with no enemies.

We can agree to disagree. That's about as good as it will be. We'll never see eye to eye if you don't try to see. What can we do? For you it's black and white, red versus blue... and not good enough to win, you have to beat the other guy... Oh why?...Oh, why?... And, I shouldn't have to mention, we live in at least three dimensions... But you say "No! There are only two: One for me... none for you. It's black and white. There's wrong and there's right. It's day and night... And nothing in between! Give or take... Win or lose... We all have to choose, Make no mistake!" But, why do I have to lose for you to win? Why is it always one or the other? It's either "me or him!" We're in the same boat. We're up the river. Why do I have to lose for you to win? Everyone's hiding something or other. Everyone lies to themselves or each other. The biggest judges have the deepest secrets. We're all the bad guy here! Why do I have to lose for you to win? Why do I have to lose for you to win? Why is it always one or the other? It's either "me or him!" We're in the same boat. We're up the river. Why do I have to lose for you to win?

Total silence. Total darkness. Very far from where you started. Only thing that you can do: repeat the lie until it's true. Don't let it get out. When did we start keeping secrets? No such thing as coincidence. Left no shred of evidence. You're playing a game that's dangerous, regardless of the consequences. Don't let it slip out. It's hard to sleep while you're keeping secrets. Sometimes you know the moment you did it, there's no way you're going to get away with it. Don't know how long you can take it. It could break you if you let it. Don't let it get out. Why did we start keeping secrets?

We're going downtown, to the promised land! You want to take your time. You want to look around, see what you can find. You don't mind now; you're going downtown. It's easy-breezy. No fuss, no muss. Just dust yourself off and get on the bus right now. We're going downtown, to the promised land! We're going down down down downtown! Down down down downtown! Doesn't even matter where it's going to happen. You just need to be there, closer to the action. Just step right up and climb inside. Get on board and take a ride. The only thing that you have to do is let the fun bus get you where you're going to. Downtown! The promised land! Going down down down downtown! Down down down downtown! Doesn't even matter where it's going to happen. You just need to be there, closer to the action. Yowza! We're getting closer! Closer to the action, where it's happening. Haven't seen a fraction of it. Already know you're going to Love it. What is going down is going down downtown.

I think I have been here before. Isn't it strange? Everything is different somehow. Even I have changed. It's getting harder and harder to keep my head above water. Keep your paddle in the water. The river knows which way to go. Doesn't matter how you got here. Some things you cannot control. It's getting harder and harder to keep my head above water. Never thought it would be easy being taken for a ride. Can't believe what's happening. Nowhere to run Nowhere to hide. It's getting harder and harder to keep my head above water. Every day and every night Try to believe it's alright. Keep your eyes on the horizon. It's getting harder and harder to keep my head above water.

In a shadowy part of the back of your mind in your heart, in the dark is where you will find there's a part of you that never left the scene of the crime. It isn't like it matters now. You can't outrun a shadow anyhow. It's a slippery slope where a snake in the grass is going to offer you one more chance and you could, but you won't, but you would, but you don't but you want to. One more last time. Just one more very last time. What's done is done. You're feeling sick. Another one might do the trick. You think you're past the point of no return. You still have a lot to learn. No matter what you do you can't outrun the shadow behind you. No matter how far. No matter how fast. Wherever you are it will still be attached. It's there when you look back. Still there when you look back. So don't you dare look back. It's still there when you look back. One more last time. Just one more very last time.

This is nothing new. No matter what you do it's going to slip away from you. You make a lot of plans You had it in your hands It happens every day like that. It's really not that bad. You lose the things you had. That's just the way it's always been. You had it for a moment. Now it's gone. Everybody goes away. That's okay. Everybody knows the way. I know how it feels. This cannot be real. It will never be the same again. It can happen slow or fast. You only know that it won't last. It was always going to change someday. You had no time to react. Now it's gone and won't come back. It's like you lost a game that you're not even playing. You had it for a moment, Now it's gone... One stolen, golden moment you were young. Everybody goes away. That's okay. Everybody knows the way. No matter where the shadows land night is going to fall. It's out of your hands. It comes for us all. Everybody goes away. Everybody knows the way.

Like a leaf upon the wind with Winter moving in one day Spring will come again. The night comes with the frost and everything is lost but one day Spring will come again. So just take this time to rest. You don't have to do your best. One day Spring will come again. And one day the Sun will rise and we will open up our eyes. Some day Spring will come again. Although no one will survive you can still live while you're alive One day Spring will come again. They may not be the ones you know, but I know flowers will still grow. One day Spring will come again. And the flowers will rise and the clouds will leave the sky when the Spring returns again. When the sunlight melts the snow we will have won and you will know that Springtime has come again.

Four in the morning. I am alone and the sky is the colour of the deep end of the ocean. Right where I should be, alone with my thoughts in a quiet corner in between days in the quiet shadows of Porcupine Lake. As I look up, I begin to wonder if the stars are somehow closer and the world is so much older... I just can't help it. But then, why should I? I have gotten some mileage from my mistakes. Sure come a long way from Porcupine Lake. Gentle night breezes whispering secrets to me... aaah... The world is sleeping. I, too, am dreaming in a quiet moment before it awakes in the quiet shadows of Porcupine Lake.
